The longest I've used them in a sitting is about 5 hours and they still had juice.

Sony Pulse. Love them. Work great. My buddy brought over his pair and we used them for a late night of gaming without waking the family.

I have the TurtleBeach Elite 800 love them paid 299.99 with tax & 2 year warranty from bestbuy they cost a grand total of like $365.00. Might I add u do not need to use a chat cable from controller to headset they are wireless and blue tooth so u can answer a call while in the middle of a game. It's rated the top of the line headset has a lot of different presets as well as you can set presets up your self via a laptop computer there is also a companion app on Android and I believe there is one for iPhone as well.

I've been using the $99 wireless Sony units made specifically for the PS for a month or two. They're very comfortable, and the guys I've gamed with have had no complaints on mic quality or hearing my system in the background ("yes", it's still on).

I just ordered the Playstation Golds online for $75.00. I was reading reviews the past few days about Astros because my Trittons are dying but I saw too many complaints and didn't want to gamble at that price. Lots of people talking about white noise/buzzing in the right ear piece on the A50's (that's where the wireless adapter is), complaints about the mic, some people are having charging problems, and for some it stops syncing with the wireless unit and they were told to leave the headset on to drain the battery and try it again on next charge. That's a lot of potential issues for a $300.00 headset. I know people will give bad reviews for just about anything these days but I found enough from multiple sources to scare me off from these.

I'm sure the Golds won't be anywhere on the same level sound wise but for this price I don't think you can really go wrong.

That's a great deal Cabot. If you don't like them, I'll be surprised.

+1 for the PS Golds.

Sure, there are better, more expensive options - but for my old, decrepit ears they are solidly "good enough". Charge lasts for a few hours, light and comfortable, simple button placement.

I had a pair of the Sony Elites but they stopped charging and now only work when plugged into the controller via the cord (which means no volume/mute controls). I never really got used to the button layout on them, I like the Golds better.

Gaming Headsets

Just broke down and bought the Astro A50's. Price matched at Best Buy for $250. I also traded in a few old games and accessories so I wouldn't feel the dent as much.

Both of my kids are using TB Earforce Tango BlackOps 2 wireless headsets and love them. $99 for refurb and $150 new. The description on Amazon said they can be used with both XBone and PS4.

Thanks! Got them tonight and tested them out. Voice clarity is terrific and they are very comfortable compared to my last pair. Virtual surround sound isn't quite as good as the surround set I had (they were twice the price) but it's nothing to complain about either. Overall the quality seems good and for $75.00 I don't think you can do much better and get all these features.

Was nice tossing out all the cords/connectors and inline controls from the busted headset!

These are the exact same ones I picked up. After using these for 6+ hours in a couple of different games I am now a fan. Damn these sound great!

I just bought the Turtle Beach Stealth 5ooP today. First headset ever owned. Was glad to meet up with my first Maanclan member KryptosPhantom while playing Destiny. Very happy to have joined Maanclan.

Question for Sony Gold headset owners.

Do the Gold headsets make noise as you move your head around?

Referring to creaking sound made made by plastic and/or metal rubbing together. My old Sony headset was very noisy and very annoying. Sure the sound quality through the speaker was fine but the added feedback from the external sounds was, repeat, very annoying and I wouldnt be surprised if it was picked up by the microphone and projected through the chat for others to "enjoy" as well.
Respect the CoC.

Nope. Mine are dead quiet. Maybe a light coating of silicone where two pieces mate would help?
