Some helpful suggestions posted on some forum site. These actually work.
Battlefield Bad Company Tips 1

Here are a few tips and tricks my friends and I have found to be useful in multi player. These ideas are primarily attacking situations. Some of these tips might be common knowledge for many of you. However, some might find this useful. And some tips many might argue with.

First of all, when attacking try not to arm the box if possible. There are more convenient ways of destroying gold crates than just arming the box. The second you arm the gold crate the enemy will head to the crate to disarm and kill any hostile in the area. Instead, put C4 on the box. If you were careful enough not to be seen, you can easily do a lot of damage to it. Using all of the C4 given to you when you spawn (5 or 6 I think) you can take the gold crate down to 1/3 health. If your traveling in pairs, the two of you could easily take it out in no time.

Another way to take down a crate if your not specialist is other explosives. For demolition, rockets do incredible damage. Also, it may sound funny but the mines also do a great deal of damage. Try placing the mines on the gold crate or around the gold crate then fire a rocket when at a safe distance away.

For Support, if the box is in the open try calling in a mortar strike on the box. You might not do too much damage to the box, but there are more than likely enemy soldiers camping inside the building that you might get some lucky kills off of.

Recon and Assault do not really have anything that can do enough damage to the crate to be dangerous. Assault does have the grenade launcher but it would be ideal for Recon and Assault to be on the lookout while the Specialist and Demo does their job.

Try to be courteous. If you see someone putting C4 on the gold crate, do not shoot the box. Not only will Team Kill result but the damage to the box will alert enemy forces to rush in and finish whoever is left.

Vehicles are a must for some maps. Tanks are ideal for doing damage to boxes. Not only because of the size and the damage that they do, but chances are most of the enemy team will focus in on the tank creating a diversion for Specialists and Demos to move in on the flank.

Boats also do incredible amount of damage to boxes. On maps like Oasis and Valley run, the boats can take out the river side boxes in no time. On Oasis, you have a better chance of being spotted due to no cover by the river. If you park the boat far enough away from land you will be able too shoot the gold crate box and fire at the enemy should they come out. Don't run your boat ashore. This leaves you open to your right and left flanks.

Valley Run is the most ideal situation for boats when it comes to the first base. The river side crate is wide open to attacks from boats. Although people on boats run the risk of being shot at by rockets, chances are the enemy team will check the river last for boats leaving them open to fire. Hopefully the rest of your squad will be there to take out infantry.

Try to think about situations before running in. If there are 7 snipers on your team (hopefully not) while attacking, don't be a sniper. If there are too many snipers on attack, the box will take even longer to destroy, if your even able to destroy it.

Another situation some might disagree with is if the enemy is at your base while your on attack trying to spawn kill your team, ignore them. Try to take a vehicle as quickly as possible to their base. If most of the enemy team is trying to spawn kill at your base, then there is no one guarding their boxes. If there are, then it should not be much of a defense at their base.

I never thought about using the AT mines to blow a crate. Good idea.

Not true, Recon has two items which cause damage. The .50 Barrett M95 does damage and you don't have to get close. Also, you can call in a bomb strike on any enemy manned or EMPTY "vehicle" (vehicle also includes turrets). Just call in a strike on a vehicle and guide the bomb to the crate not the vehicle.
You're not paranoid if they really are out to get you!!!!

Dragun, you did nothing wrong. I didn't mean to detonate that C-4. I was placing it so that I could hide in the adjacent 2nd story story building after you had planted your charge and watch for someone to try and diffuse it. That way, I could've blown the asshole up. But, I hit the wrong button, and now we're dead, and I'm the asshole.

Still good times. I was laughing when we started to go crazy on each other. For the record, the first time we were in the chopper and I suicided us, I was changing my controls in the option menu but wasn't fast enough before we hovered backwards.
